President Biden reiterated his dedication to stand with Black Americans in a weekend interview and highlighted his history of backing Black-owned small businesses and strong job growth.
In a clip from his exclusive interview with Biden, MSNBC's Jonathan Capehart asked Biden if he felt he had kept his promise to support Black Americans.
Biden replied, "I have supported you as much as any President has in American history since Lyndon Johnson. Black wealth has increased by 60 percent overall."
Biden shared that he has been meeting with Black business owners who have benefitted from government loans and direct payments that have helped them start their businesses.
Biden mentioned that he believes that Black, Hispanic, and Asian Americans, given an opportunity, can accomplish anything. He also noted endorsements from major political action committees representing these groups.
The AAPI Victory Fund, The Collective PAC, and the Latino Victory Fund announced their endorsements on Saturday. endorsements, along with a $30 million commitment to mobilizing communities of color to support Biden’s reelection campaign.
Biden stated, "Because we've supported them, we've helped them stay in business. We've propelled them forward, resulting in the highest number of small businesses opening in the past 50 years." He also emphasized that small businesses account for half of the economy.
Biden also highlighted his efforts to manufacture products in the United States and rely on American workers.
Biden expressed his intent to allocate 20 percent of production to minority and small businesses, emphasizing that 21 percent has already been allocated and is contributing to economic growth and unification.
