The viewers of The Weakest Link were surprised by what they saw when Helen Flanagan gave a very confusing answer on the BBC gameshow.
In the latest episode of the show hosted by Romesh Ranganathan, the Coronation Street actress joined a group of famous people competing to win money for charity. charity.
Other competitors included JLS JB Gill, Loose Women’s Kaye Adams, EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami, actor and campaigner Adam Pearson, comedian Ivo Graham, singer and actress Toyah Willcox, and comedian Jen Brister.
During the first round, Romesh asked Helen a seemingly simple question in an attempt to increase the prize money.
‘The white cliffs of Dover in geology are mainly made of what? Chalk or cheese?’
After thinking for a moment, the 33-year-old answered: ‘Umm, cheese!’
If only!
When Romesh revealed that the correct answer was actually chalk, Helen appeared shocked by her mistake.
As a result, viewers of the show were greatly amused by the actress’ response.
‘Helen Flanagan thinks that the White Cliffs of Dover are made from cheese. Not chalk but actual cheese,’ a user named Mess Bhayangkara commented.
‘Did Helen really just say cheese…? 😂😂,’ Cat also wrote.
However, later in the show, Helen explained that she had misunderstood the question as she did not hear the entire thing.
After the first round, it was revealed that she had been voted as the Weakest Link by her fellow competitors, and so was eliminated.
‘It’s difficult. It’s tricky,’ Romesh acknowledged, with Helen responding: ‘It’s quite terrifying, the pressure. And you’ve got to think so quick.’
‘We’ve really enjoyed the three minutes you’ve had with us,’ the comedian then quipped.
After Helen left the stage, she elaborated further: ‘Do you know what it was? It was the pressure. And to be fair, I think I got really difficult questions.
‘All I heard was “Dover.” And I thought, “Dover, kind of Cornwall kind of thing. Cornish.” So I just went, “Cheese.”’
Even though Helen wasn’t expected to reach the end of the competition, Kaye emerged as the Strongest Link and won.
After defeating JB in the final round, the TV presenter received £7,150 to donate to charity.
The Weakest Link can be watched on BBC iPlayer.
