NORRISTOWN — Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and East Greenville Borough Police Chief Randy Morris said on Friday that they are looking into a shooting that resulted in a death at a residence on Jefferson Street in East Greenville.
The victim, Derek Sherer, 42, lived at the same address.
At 8:11 a.m., on Friday, Pennsylvania State Police were called to the residence due to a domestic dispute.
Sherer was found dead from a gunshot wound in front of the residence when troopers arrived.
East Greenville Borough Police and Montgomery County Detectives, with help from the Pennsylvania State Police, have started a joint investigation into the homicide.
The shooter was still at the scene and is cooperating with law enforcement.
The initial investigation indicated that the incident is related to a domestic issue, and there is no threat to the public at this time.
