Ian Happ, an outfielder for the Chicago Cubs, bought a 3,395-square-foot condominium in the West Loop for $3.09 million in December. The condo is located in a newly built, 16-story luxury building.
Happ, who is 29 years old, has played for the Cubs for seven years and was named an All-Star in 2022. He recently signed a three-year, $61 million contract extension with the team. The condo has a monthly homeowners association fee of $937, along with unspecified property taxes. Happ is among the current Cubs players who reside in Chicago. Shortstop Dansby Swanson and his wife, Mallory Swanson, purchased a mansion in Lakeview for $3.5 million last year, and pitcher Kyle Hendricks has owned a six-bedroom house in Lakeview since 2017.
The condo includes three bedrooms, 3 ½ bathrooms, herringbone entry floors, arched doorways, high-end kitchen appliances, custom cabinetry by Bovelli Custom Millwork, bathroom fixtures from Lefroy Brooks, and a living room fireplace from Atelier Jouvence, a South Side fireplace manufacturer.
The real estate agent who assisted Happ with the purchase, Nancy Tassone, chose not to provide a comment.
