Eugene Levy, an actor, presented his star on the Hollywood Walk Of Fame this week, reuniting with his American Pie co-star Jason Biggs as he did so.
The 77-year-old comedy figure was accompanied by his real family and on-screen son as he accepted the award.
Eugene played Jason’s father in the daring 1999 comedy American Pie and its follow-up movies.
The coming-of-age comedy – about a group of teens who make a pact to lose their virginity before prom night – is famous for a scene featuring Jason and an apple pie.
Eugene played dad Noah Levenstein – who was unlucky enough to catch his son in the act with said pie.
Jason, 45, joined Eugene along with the star’s real-life daughter, Sarah Levy, 37. Also in attendance was Catherine O’Hara, 70 – who plays his wife on the Emmy-award-winning show Schitt’s Creek.
His son, Daniel, was sadly absent, as he is currently filming in Bulgaria.
‘My son Daniel couldn’t be here today, sadly,’ Levy said as he accepted the award – joking that his absence felt like a zany subplot from Schitt’s Creek.
‘My second son, Jim, is here, from American Pie, and I love the fact you’re here, Jason,’ he added.
The Canadian actor went on to pay tribute to his wife, Deborah Devine, saying: ‘You can’t have your name put on a star in Hollywood Boulevard without someone having your back and Debs had mine for 47 years, there would be no star without you.’
‘How rewarding was that, a life spent making people laugh?’ he added.
Both Catherine and Sarah paid tribute to the actor, with his screen wife describing him as ‘a gentleman in every sense of the word.’
Eugene and Jason last appeared together in 2012’s American Reunion – which saw the original cast reunite in their old hometown as adults.
While this would be Jason’s last American Pie, Eugene also starred in the franchise’s straight-to-DVD sequels (with titles including The Naked Mile, Beta House and Band Camp), alongside a rotating cast of less famous young actors.
In addition to featuring in all eight (!) American Pie movies, Eugene has also appeared in Father Of The Bride, Cheaper By The Dozen 2 and Finding Dory.
These days, he is best known for his work in Schitt’s Creek, which he co-created with son Daniel – and also stars in, along with daughter Sarah.
The popular Netflix sitcom, which ran from 2015 – 2020, followed a wealthy family who are forced to reckon with their newfound poverty when they suddenly and unexpectedly go bankrupt.
While the show came to an end four years ago, Eugene has hinted that he would love to bring the cast back together for a movie.
‘We’ve said we’re always keeping things open, and Daniel himself has said it really depends on what it is, because whatever it is, it has to elevate itself from the point that we left off, to the point where we’re going to pick up,’ he told Josie Gibson and Demot O’Leary on an interview with This Morning last year.
‘We would love to reunite with the cast again,’ he said.
