A mother and her baby narrowly escaped a house fire caused by pouring gasoline through the letterbox and setting it on fire.
The fire reached the room where the baby was sleeping, and police found a 'clear baby-shaped outline' in soot during their investigation.
Investigators have released photos of two men they want to speak with regarding the attack on a home in Leeds.
The arson incident on Scott Hall Road was described as potentially having tragic consequences, with the two being saved by luck when another family member arrived shortly after.
Two men, believed to have come from the Thames Valley area via Birmingham, are suspected of targeting the house around 9.40am on July 13 last year.
Detective Constable Lindsey Crawford stated: 'This incident could have had tragic consequences.
'Thankfully, another family member returned home shortly after the fire started. However, even in that brief time, the baby's room was affected, leading to a clear baby-shaped outline being found in the crib afterwards.
‘We need to identify these pictured males as part of our ongoing inquiries.
'I urge anyone with information about their identities, or the men themselves, to come forward and assist our investigation.
‘We believe the vehicle used by the suspects traveled to West Yorkshire from the Thames Valley area via Birmingham.
‘It was later found in the West Midlands. If anyone from these areas has information that could help us, I also urge them to get in touch.
