Mimi Duffy from Central Bucks West won gold in three individual events and was also part of the winning 4×400 relay team, while the North Penn boys and girls teams topped their respective standings at the Suburban One League Colonial Division Track and Field Championships at Central Bucks East on Saturday.
Justin Landis from North Penn won both the 3,200 and 1600 meter races, and the Knights boys took first place in three field events, including a top-three sweep in the javelin, to score a total of 193 points. Souderton came in second with 156 points, and the host East was third with 135 points.
In the North Penn girls team, Zianna Dobson and Gardenia Mikhail came in first and second in the javelin, while Bailey Wagner in the 300 and Madison Gee in the triple jump took second place, helping the Knights to collect 158.5 points, beating CB East’s 148 points. Central Bucks West was third with 123 points.
Duffy, a senior who will run for Penn State in college, won the 100-meter dash in 56.49, the 400 meters in 56.49, and the 200 with a time of 24.87. She also ran the anchor leg on West’s 4×4 relay, along with Reegan Moran, Mia Menard, and Abigail Kolbe, to win in 3:54.84.
Destini Smith from Souderton won gold three times on Saturday and finished the two-day meet with four victories. The junior, who had won the long jump on Friday, also won the triple jump with a distance of 41 feet, 5.25 inches, cleared 5 feet, 6 inches in the high jump, and was part of the Indians’ winning 4×100 relay.
Janae Pettaway, Smith, Isiyah McFadden, and Ava Millers finished the 4×1 in 48:35, beating North Penn (48.66) and Pennridge (49.62).
Souderton also got a first place in the shot put from Anita Joseph, who won with a throw of 31 feet, 10.25 inches, with CB East’s Mia Rivera coming second at 21 feet, 7.5 inches.
Dobson led the javelin event with her throw of 188 feet, 3 inches, while teammate Mikhail earned silver with her effort of 107 feet, 5 inches. Rivera got bronze at 103 feet, 2 inches.
Dobson earned her second gold at the division meet, having placed first in discus the previous day.
Central Bucks East won three events on Saturday, with Lilly Norcross winning the 3,200 meters in 11:14.08, Ava Mignon coming in first in the 800 with a time of 2:17.46, and Melayna Pettigrew capturing gold in the 100 hurdles in a time of 15.26.
Central Bucks South girls achieved two first places – Riley Rooney winning the 1,600 meters (5:04.21) and Jacquelyn Waddell coming first in the pole vault with a clearance of 10 feet, 6 inches.
Ashley Landis from Pennridge was first in the 300-meter hurdles, with a time of 43.97, beating Pettigrew’s 45.41. Landis’ Rams teammate Victoria Angelo came in third at 45.72.
Justin Landis gave the North Penn boys a pair of wins, the sophomore winning the 3,200 meters in 9:12.34 and placing first in the 1,600 in 4:22.5.
Zach Duld led the Knights in a top-three javelin sweep with his best throw of 172 feet, 3 inches. Bilal Algarhy took second with 140 feet, 5 inches, and Jalen Gaymon came in third at 137 feet, 10 inches.
Gaymon secured first place for North Penn in the shot put with a throw of 50 feet, 5 inches, and teammate Mohammed Ahmad came in third with a throw of 46 feet, 10.50 inches.
Trip Campbell, from the Knights, won the high jump by clearing the bar at 6 feet, 4 inches.
Chase Marshall from Pennridge won the 200 meters with a time of 21.68, and also claimed victory in the 100 meters with a time of 10.76. Felix Suliveres from Souderton and Marc Cobbs from North Penn took second and third place in both events.
Michael Muiruri secured first place for the Rams in the triple jump with a jump of 42 feet, 11 inches.
Roman Messina from CB East won the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.952, narrowly beating Vaughn Cole from Souderton who came in second with a time of 14.945.
The Patriots claimed the top two spots in the discus, with Jacob Tannenbaum in first at 165 feet, 2 inches and Nathaniel Karpinski in second at 140 feet. Lorenz Forsmann won the 400 meters in 48.68. Tannenbaum also secured second place in the shot put at 49 feet, 7 inches.
Brayden Teufel from Central Bucks West took first place in the 300 hurdles with a time of 38.91, closely followed by Messina with 38.93. Nate Fehrman claimed victory for the Bucks in the 800 meters with a time of 1:54.18. Additionally, Teufel, Fehrman, Troy Sudall, and Nathan Terry teamed up to win the 4×400 relay in 3:19.66.
Lucas Knappenberger from Central Bucks South secured first place in the pole vault with a clearance of 13 feet, 6 inches. He also took third place in the triple jump with a distance of 42 feet, 5.25 inches.
