BOYS LACROSSE
Pennridge 10, Council Rock South 9 >> Pennridge won the SOL National Conference title by narrowly defeating Council Rock South on Wednesday. Frankie Fanelli had three goals and an assist, Ryan Carrickhoff scored two goals and had an assist, and goalie Tyler Vandermark made 10 saves. The Rams were behind 3-2 at halftime but managed to outscore the Golden Hawks 4-2 in the third quarter to take a 6-5 lead.
Matt Kriney and Levi Souder both scored two goals, Matt Seiler added a goal and an assist, and Cole Nitterour won 13 of 23 faceoffs as Pennridge finished its regular season with three consecutive wins.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Upper Dublin 15, Cheltenham 3 >>
Upper Dublin secured a share of the SOL American Conference title by defeating Cheltenham. Anna DiMartile had three goals, two assists, and 10 draw controls, while Bridget DiMartile collected three goals, three assists, and a pair of draw controls. Paige Dinkel scored three goals, Shannon Connaughton contributed two goals and two assists, and Ava Shohen finished with a goal, two assists, and two draw controls. The Cardinals were leading 10-0 at halftime. Souderton 18, Neshaminy 7 >>
Tatum Andrews had five goals, three assists, and a draw control, Avery Farina finished with four goals and an assist, and Souderton used an 11-goal second half to secure its first SOL National win. Carly Gavetti collected three goals, two assists, and nine draw controls, while Caroline Kelcy added three goals, an assist, and three draw controls for the Indians. Abby Perkins had three goals for Neshaminy, and Mia Sermani scored twice. Goalie Nicole Kleckner made 12 saves for Souderton, and Avery Zack posted 12 saves for Neshaminy.
BOYS VOLLEYBALL
Pennridge 3, Souderton 1 >> Aaron Ladd had 15 kills, seven digs, four blocks, and a pair of aces as Pennridge completed a perfect SOL American Conference season. The team bounced back from losing the first set to beat Souderton 18-25, 25-19, 25-18, 25-21. Evan Jalosinski totaled 38 assists for the Rams, while Chris Cullen collected nine kills and six blocks. For Souderton, Derek Stefanowicz had 10 kills, eight digs, and four aces, and Justin Doppler recorded five kills, three digs, two blocks, and an ace.
Central Bucks East 10, Pennridge 0 (5) in 5 innings
Central Bucks East started a 7-run inning with Chase Harlan's two-run home run, winning at least a share of the SOL Colonial Division title.
Harlan went 2-for-3 with four RBIs and a run for the Patriots (12-5, 11-3), while Damian Frayne pitched a five-inning shutout with only one hit allowed, no walks, and nine strikeouts.
Nolan Behm hit two doubles and scored two runs, and Nick Mutchler scored twice going 3-for-3. Connor Murray got the only hit for Pennridge (9-7, 5-7).
Lansdale Catholic won 9-8 against Archbishop Carroll in 8 innings.
Archbishop Carroll led 8-6 in the 8th inning, but Lansdale Catholic came back with four runs, including Jake Benner's walk-off double.
BASEBALL
Connor Ziff had two doubles, two RBIs, and two runs, Dan Grosch went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and a run. Tim Martinez got two walks and two RBIs, Jack Whichner scored three times going 2-for-2, and Benner collected three RBIs for LC. Lansdale Catholic was down 6-2 before scoring twice in the fifth and sixth innings. In the bottom of the eighth, Ziff and Grosch hit back-to-back RBI doubles to tie the game 8-8. Lance Gundlach then singled and Martinez was intentionally walked, loading the bases for Benner to drive in the winning run with his double.
La Salle won 10-3 against Cardinal O’Hara.
La Salle was behind 3-1 before scoring four runs in the fifth inning, adding three more in the sixth, and two in the seventh to secure the win.
David Vozzo hit a solo home run and finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs. Aidan Chandler's solo homer in the first gave La Salle a 1-0 lead.
Liam Hawley scored twice going 2-for-5, Matt Gannon and Luke Borgmann both had two RBIs, and Frank Provenzano scored twice for the Explorers. Cardinal O’Hara’s Brendan Till went 4-for-4 with a double, RBI, and a run.
Dock Mennonite won 10-0 against MaST Charter in 5 innings.
Deven Ross went 3-for-3 with a double, triple, an RBI, and two runs for Dock Mennonite.
Bryan Dorneman went 3-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, and two runs, and Josh Mascio doubled twice going 2-for-3 with an RBI and two runs. Ethan Kratz had a double and two RBIs. Brayden Kratz pitched a complete five-inning game, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out five.
Faith Christian won 8-5 against Bristol.
Grayson Weikel hit a leadoff home run in the fifth and finished 3-for-4 with three RBIs and a run for Faith Christian.
Reid Miller and Ethan Johnson both went 2-for-3 with two runs for the Lions. Jagger Verbit had two RBIs.
Neumann-Goretti won 3-1 against Archbishop Wood. Neumann-Goretti scored three runs in the sixth to defeat Archbishop Wood in a PCL game.
Logan Madison got a hit to bring in a run for the Vikings with a single when there were already two outs in the top of the seventh. He ended up making 2 hits out of 3 times at bat. Braden Kelly also got 2 hits out of 3 times at bat and managed to score a run.
Wood is ranked ninth in the PCL playoffs and will go to visit No. 8 Cardinal O’Hara in the first round on Wednesday.
Methacton beat Upper Perkiomen 7-0. In Methacton’s PAC victory, Chase McNally hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the first inning while Will Christian and Austin Frank combined to not allow any runs and only 4 hits.
Tommy Kratz made 2 hits out of 3 times at bat including a double and managed to score 2 runs, while Tripp Shytle got 2 hits out of 2 times at bat with a walk, a double and an RBI for the Warriors. Nick Remish also made 2 hits out of 3 times at bat with a double and an RBI, Ayden Fitch was 2-for-3, and Ben Clark had two RBIs.
Christian was the winning pitcher, allowing three hits, no walks, hitting one batter and striking out four in five innings. Frank pitched two innings, giving up a hit, walking one, hitting one batter and striking out one. Braden Rieg from Upper Perkiomen made 3 hits out of 3 times at bat.
Pope John Paul II beat Boyertown 2-1.
Pope John Paul II scored a run in the bottom of the sixth to break a 1-1 tie and managed to hold on to win against Boyertown.
AJ Diaddezio hit a double and pitched two scoreless innings to earn the win. He did not give up a hit or walk, hit one batter and struck out three. Perkiomen Valley beat Upper Merion 16-5 in 6 innings.
Perkiomen Valley took a 9-0 lead with six runs in the top of the third inning, Upper Merion managed to make it 9-5 with five runs in their half of the inning but PV pulled away to claim a PAC victory.
Carmen Pascale made 2 hits out of 3 times at bat including a triple, two RBI and a run scored for UM. Dustin Gunning made 3 hits out of 3 times at bat while Dylan Roberts also made 2 hits out of 4 times at bat with a run.
John Kurtz made 3 hits out of 3 times at bat including a triple and two RBIs for Perk Valley, who scored four in the fifth and three in the sixth. Michael Strechay was 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs and Tyler Gilbert went 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs.
Quakertown beat Pennridge 16-1 in 3 innings. Quakertown responded to a solo home run by Pennridge’s Ryleigh Lilly in the top of the first inning by scoring nine runs in their half of the frame as the Panthers easily won a non-conference game.
Mary Wilkinson was 2-for-3 with a double, triple, an RBI and two runs scored while Skyler Williams went 2-for-2 with two walks, two RBIs and three runs scored for Quakertown (17-1, 13-1 SOL Liberty). Leah Schwalm was 3-for-3 with an RBI.
Ava Eatherton made 2 hits out of 2 times at bat with a walk, a double, an RBI and three runs scored, Madison Mallery was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and a run while Ellie Hilton had three RBIs. West Chester East beat Plymouth Whitemarsh 4-2 in 8 innings.
West Chester East scored two runs on two errors in the top of the eighth inning to end Plymouth Whitemarsh’s 13-game winning streak.
Caelin Kosvitch was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and a run for the Colonials (15-3, 13-1 SOL Liberty) while Rian Reed went 2-for-4.
SOFTBALL
WC East scored twice in the top of the first inning before PW tied the game with two runs in the sixth. Caelyn Rodriguez made 3 hits out of 4 times at bat and scored two runs for WC East. Ema Antczak went 2-for-3 with an RBI and Carly Bickle was 2-for-4 with a run scored.
Souderton won against Central Bucks East with a score of 8-2.
Ava Elliott had a perfect game, including a double, an RBI, and a run, as Souderton was winning 3-2 before scoring five runs in the seventh inning to secure a SOL Colonial victory.
Kiera Fadden, Camryn Nadolski, and Makayla Mihelcic each had a 2-for-4 game with an RBI and a run for the Indians (9-7, 6-7 division). Kendall Clemmer also had a 2-for-4 game with a run scored. Souderton was ahead 3-0 after scoring a run in the first, third, and fourth innings. Central Bucks East (4-14, 1-14) reduced the lead to 3-2 with two runs in the sixth.
Archbishop Wood won over Mount St. Joseph with a score of 17-13 >>
Sophia Azzarano had six RBIs, going 4-for-5 with a double as Archbishop Wood emerged victorious in a high-scoring game against Mount St. Joseph.
Allie Higdon had a 2-for-3 game with a RBI and four runs for Wood, while Maura Yoos went 2-for-5 with a double and three runs. Parker Kraus was 2-for-2 with a walk, a double, two RBIs, and three runs, and Maddison Conlon went 2-for-4 with an RBI and two runs.
Upper Perkiomen took the lead with four runs in the fifth inning and went on to defeat Methacton in the PAC competition. Sydney Hockenbrock hit a double for the Warriors.

Archbishop Wood 17, Mount St. Joseph 13 >> Sophia Azzarano finished with six RBIs as she went 4-for-5 with a double as Archbishop Wood won a non-league slugfest over Mount St. Joseph.
