Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) tried to remove Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) during a session in the House on Wednesday. The attempt eventually did not succeed ultimately failed after lawmakers voted overwhelmingly to defend Johnson from a conservative overthrow.
Greene employed a motion to vacate in order to prompt a vote on Johnson’s Speakership, the same method used to depose former Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.).
