Former President Trump seemed to remove a post from social media on Tuesday morning. The post was a complaint about his legal team not having enough time to prepare for the next witness in the hush money criminal trial. He removed the post within an hour of posting it.
In his statement posted at 7:30 a.m. on his Truth Social platform, Trump stated… said he was informed about today's witness recently.
The former president wrote in the post, which has now been deleted, that it is unprecedented for lawyers to not have enough time to prepare. He also criticized the judge in the case.
He also criticized the judge in the case.
Trump attacked the judge and expressed frustration about his First Amendment rights being threatened. He also mentioned that the media was not reporting the judge's conflict.
The former president’s legal team has the potential witness list but is not getting much notice before the witness takes the stand. Prosecutors have indicated that they would normally provide more notice as a courtesy, but they have not done so due to Trump’s recent posts about the trial.
“We still don’t know the next witness,” Trump attorney Todd Blanche stated in court just before the trial wrapped on Monday.
Prosecutor Joshua Steinglass indicated that they planned to notify the defense about the next witness right after yesterday’s proceedings ended.
Steinglass expressed his concern about the impression that they are not giving enough notice to the defense.
The news comes after Trump was recently charged for violating a gag order imposed by Judge Juan Merchan. Trump faces 34 counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment to Stormy Daniels in 2016.
Clark Brewster confirmed that Stephanie Clifford, also known as Stormy Daniels, is expected to be called as a witness in the trial on Tuesday.
