McClain’s topic — Unlocking New Horizons: Virtual Reality as an Effective Learning Tool — will discuss how Virtual Reality (VR) has evolved from its gaming origins to transform education and learning, as stated in a press release. During her session, which will be held virtually on June 12, McClain will explain virtual reality’s potential, effectiveness, and applications as a transformative tool for immersive learning experiences.
CatapalloVR, based in Berks County, was established in 2023 and provides a platform tailored to the diverse needs of behavioral healthcare companies, educators, and individual healthcare providers, according to the company.
“Using a subscription-based revenue model, our platform serves as a valuable tool for enhancing treatment and education for neurodiverse individuals and mental health therapy,” McClain said in a statement. “Through a wide range of immersive training modules, we facilitate skill development within a secure virtual environment.”
McClain’s enthusiasm for CatapalloVR comes from a belief in the ability of cutting-edge technology to revolutionize mental health care, according to a press release.

In 2017, McClain and business partner Paulina Collonna teamed up to establish Paragon Behavioral Health Services, which has offices in Wyomissing; Ephrata, Lancaster County; and Olean, NY. They stated in a 2022 interview with MediaNews Group that the company had started developing virtual reality software intended to teach independent living and practical skills to clients with autism in a safe environment. CatapalloVR was launched about a year later.
