Last night, in Narathiwat's Muang district, two defense volunteers and two civilians got hurt when a bomb, mounted on a motorcycle sidecar, exploded in front of Tha Phraya Sai Dam.
The force of the explosion and shrapnel caused the injuries to the four victims, who were quickly taken to the provincial hospital.
After the blast, the police cordoned off a wide area around the scene and a bomb disposal team searched for other devices, but none were found.
According to witnesses, the motorcycle and sidecar were rigged with an explosive device and parked in front of the dam on Monday evening. The rider then left the scene, and the device detonated at 9:35 pm.
