President Biden spoke with Israel's Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, on Monday. He reiterated his worries about an Israeli ground invasion of Rafah during their conversation, as Israel seemed ready to proceed with such a move.
During the call, Biden informed the Prime Minister about efforts to secure a hostage deal, including the ongoing discussions in Doha, Qatar, stated the White House.
Hamas is said to have accepted a U.S.-brokered ceasefire proposal on Monday, which may lead to a prolonged break in the fighting in return for the release of Israeli hostages.
