The billionaire Elon Musk, who is against transgender people, told J.K. Musk recently saw Rowling’s April 6 post in which she shared her definition of a woman that excludes transgender people and reiterated that transgender women pose a violent threat to cis women, and that care to affirm gender identity harms children — both of which are not true.
Musk replied in a post that has since been removed, “While I heartily agree with your points regarding sex/gender, may I suggest also sharing more interesting and positive content on other subjects?”
In a May 5 post about Musk’s response, Rowling wrote, “Hahaha, just realized that I missed being advised to share more positive content yesterday.” She then linked to an article about her writing career.
Musk commented on her post, writing, “I need to be reminded of this myself from time to time.” Around the same time, Musk highlighted a post asking if robots in the future will be able to fart, shared a video from a broadcaster named Matt Walsh who is against transgender people, and made the unproven claim that election fraud in the U.S. is widespread — Later that same day, Musk commented on a post about Rowling it’s not.
