Today, Thailand's three military branches fired individual 21-gun salutes to honor the King on Coronation Day.
The Royal Thai Army's First Artillery Battalion of the First Artillery Regiment of the Royal Guards fired the 21-gun salute at Sanam Luang.
The First Infantry Battalion of the Royal Guards of the First Infantry Regiment of the Marine Division performed the same ritual at Wichai Prasit Fort, inside the headquarters of the Royal Thai Navy, and the Anti-Aircraft Regiment of the Royal Guards of the Anti-Aircraft Command of the Royal Thai Air Force fired their 21-gun salute.
A 21-gun salute is widely known. It is carried out by firing cannons or artillery to honor a head of state or special event.
