Former President Trump is set to host campaign events in Wisconsin and Michigan next week, which will be the first time he takes a day off from his hush money trial in New York City to visit a battleground state.
On Wednesday, Trump will travel to Waukesha to speak about the differences between his first term and President Biden’s term, focusing on peace, prosperity, and security, as per his campaign.
Trump is expected to talk about the issues of rising prices under the Biden administration and the surge of migrants at the southern border that is affecting non-border states.
According to Trump’s campaign, the Badger State is suffering under Biden, and Trump aims to bring safety and affordability back to Wisconsin.
Following the Wisconsin event, Trump will go to Freeland, Mich., for a rally in the evening, as announced by his campaign.
Trump has expressed frustration about not being able to campaign as he seeks re-election due to the trial in Manhattan for falsifying business records related to a hush money scheme during the 2016 campaign.
Trump is required to be in court four days a week for the trial, with Wednesdays usually being off days. Next week will be the first time Trump uses this break to campaign.
The former president’s rally in North Carolina last Saturday was canceled due to severe weather.
Biden, meanwhile, has been actively traveling in recent weeks, making stops in Pennsylvania, Florida, New York and other states to promote his agenda and criticize Trump on abortion and economic issues.
