Former President Trump strongly criticized his opponents on social media for a long time post Sunday, specifically singling out former Trump administration official Miles Taylor, who said he was part of the “resistance” against Trump in 2018.
Taylor, the former chief of staff of the Department of Homeland Security, wrote an anonymous opinion piece in The New York Times criticizing Trump’s nature from the perspective of a staffer within the administration. He revealed that he composed the article in 2020.
Trump asserted that mainstream media networks like CNN and MNBC, often criticized by him, purposely highlight Taylor’s criticisms to enhance their viewership.
“So many people with little influence and fake personas appear on MSNBC & CNN, as well as other networks and platforms that struggle with ratings, claiming to know me as if they were long-lost relatives, despite having very little understanding of me or anything about me,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
Trump also took a swipe at former White House Chief of Staff John Kelly in the message, whom he has frequently criticized.
“A feeble and pathetic RINO named Miles Taylor, who collaborated with one of the less intelligent Generals, John Kelly, speaks as if he has personal knowledge of everything about Trump,” Trump continued. “Apart from seeing him on TV, I have no clue, from the Administration days, as to who he is. I assume he is a swindler because he gets paid to talk about a topic he knows nothing about, MYSELF.”
“But that’s not important to NBC, one of the worst news organizations in the world in my opinion,” he added. “There are many other people like these fakes as well, and I’ll inform you all who they are whenever I get the opportunity. TRUTH!”
The remarks come as Trump’s legal trial in New York begins, the first trial ever against a former president.
