Tomorrow, Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin will travel to the border district of Mae Sot in Tak province to check on activities following conflicts in Myawaddy, Myanmar.
He plans to meet with relevant authorities in the area to get updates on the current situation, including aid plans for both Thai and Myanmar citizens affected by the ongoing civil war in Myanmar.
At the same time, Thai Foreign Minister Parnpree Bahiddha-Nukara reported that as of yesterday, about 2,800 displaced persons had entered Thailand, but 1,200 have already returned to Myanmar.
Parnpree will go with PM Srettha to Mae Sot tomorrow.
On April 20, Public Health Minister Chonlanan Srikaew visited Mae Sot hospital to evaluate the situation and provide support to the medical teams.thThey did this to assess the situation and offer moral support to the hospital's medical teams.
Mae Sot hospital has been designated as a medical centre for those Thai and Myanmar nationals affected by the fighting in Myanmar. The hospital announced an emergency situation after 22 injured people from Myanmar were brought in all at once, with seven of them severely injured.
According to Parnpree, Thailand is maintaining a neutral position over the conflict in Myanmar.
