Manchester United have included four newcomers in their squad for Sunday’s FA Cup semi-final against Coventry.
Erik ten Hag has been affected by three new injuries this week, with Sofyan Amrabat, Mason Mount and Willy Kambwala out of the game at Wembley.
This has left the Dutch manager’s squad reduced, as Luke Shaw, Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans, Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia are already missing in defense.
Harry Maguire has only trained once this week and will have a late fitness test to confirm his fitness for Wembley.
But with limited options available, Ten Hag has been compelled to enlist the club’s academy players to make up the numbers.
Louis Jackson, 18, has been included in today’s squad and the centre-back could be given his debut in north-west London.
Harry Amass, a left-back, has excelled in the club’s academy since joining from Watford but he has yet to make his debut.
Habeeb Ogunneye, has not yet played for the club, but the right-back is required as cover with Malacia and Shaw out.
Ethan Wheatley, a striker, is another player yet to make his debut but is providing cover for Rasmus Hojlund with Anthony Martial out.
