Fox News host Maria Bartiromo challenged Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, asking about the effect of her actions on the GOP's ability to govern and reelect President Trump.
During a Sunday interview on Fox's Sunday Morning Futures, Bartiromo grilled Greene about the criticism she faced for repeatedly threatening to remove Speaker Mike Johnson.
“You’re facing criticism from both the left and the right, in the media, many people are criticizing you. They're saying that you're causing turmoil during this election year,” Bartiromo stated. “How does this contribute to reelecting President Trump? How does this show that Republicans can govern? People are saying, 'She's causing chaos. She's making the whole party look disrupted.' What's your reaction to these criticisms?”
Greene denied the accusations, saying, “Those calling this turmoil are the same people responsible for the turmoil that the American people experience every day.”
She added, “Those criticizing me are not the American people. The American people support me, and I've spoken to them and seen it everywhere. They are upset, and what they're saying is that they don't want to vote for Republicans anymore… The current Republican Party in charge is no different from the Democratic party.”
Bartiromo also asked Greene why she did not file a motion to remove the speaker's chair after the House approved an additional $95 billion in new foreign aid, $60 billion of which is going to Ukraine on Saturday.
“I have been handling this responsibly the whole time. I support our majority, and I support having the majority in 2025,” Greene responded.
However, Greene clearly expressed her disapproval of the bill.
“And after this bill was passed, the American people saw on their TV screens and social media how Congress was waving the Ukrainian flag on the floor of the United States House of Representatives. All of this happened because of the betrayals of Mike Johnson,” she remarked.
