The 2024 London marathon is currently taking place, with 50,000 individuals participating in the city today in one of the most popular running events globally.
The route starts at Blackheath and takes runners past Cutty Sark in Greenwich, Canary Wharf, The Shard, and Tower Bridge, before finishing up at St James’s Park.
Over 1.25 million individuals have completed the marathon since it began in 1981, with thousands signing up annually.
Potential marathon runners can register by entering a public random selection process, with winners chosen by chance.
What is the price?
If you are a UK resident, and decide to donate your entry fee to support the activities of the London Marathon Foundation during the random selection process if your entry is unsuccessful, your entry fee is reduced from £69.99 to £49.99.
What if I do not secure a place in the initial random selection process?
If you do not secure a place in the primary random selection – there is still hope.
You will automatically be included in a second random selection, thus doubling your chances of securing a place through that second drawing.
How can I confirm if I am in the random selection process?
Once you are successful in either random selection, your entry is paid for and confirmed.
What if I am unsuccessful in both?
However, if you are unsuccessful, you will receive a running top, and the money you entered will be given to the London Marathon Foundation.
If you receive an offer after being successful, and you reside in the UK and did not choose to donate your entry fee when applying, you will need to pay the full entry fee of £69.99.
