A nursery worker has been given a 10-year prison sentence for sexually mistreating young children at a pre-school in Staffordshire.
Craig Ordish was hired to care for the kids, but instead misused his position to commit terrible crimes involving touching and encouraging a child to take part in sexual activity.
The 39-year-old was given a 10-year prison sentence at Stafford Crown Court.
At a hearing in November, Ordish admitted to two counts of assaulting a girl under 13, another count of encouraging a child to engage in a sexual act, five counts of creating indecent photographs/pseudo-photographs of a child and possession of extreme pornographic images.
He was sentenced to 10 years in prison at Stafford Crown Court on Friday (April 19), and was also given an extended license period of three years.
Ordish was also given an indefinite Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) and placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.
Following the case, Detective Inspector Helen Kirkland, of Staffordshire Police’s public protection team, said: ‘Craig Ordish abused his position of trust to commit terrible crimes against young children who he was supposed to be caring for.
‘I’d like to thank the families who have been involved in this case for their support and cooperation. Together with our partners, we have safeguarded and supported all those involved in the investigation.
‘We will continue to target those engaged in child sexual abuse and bring them to justice.’
