The former Twitch The celebrity has disclosed the financial impact of his ban, as well as the potential collaborations with official sunglasses brands.
In 2020, Dr Disrespect was permanently banned from Twitch without a public explanation, leading to ongoing speculation from fans about the reasons behind his expulsion from the platform.
Two years later, in 2022, Dr Disrespect announced on Twitter that the dispute was resolved. He declared on Twitter that the feud had ended. He stated that his legal dispute with Twitch had been resolved, with no party admitting to any wrongdoing.
Since then, both Dr Disrespect and Twitch have remained silent about the ban, but the streamer now asserts that he missed out on 'big deals' with Nike and Oakley as a consequence.
During a recent stream, Dr Disrespect referred to two lost deals but didn't provide specific details about them or the potential earnings, stating:
‘That was tough, that was a tough time. Not going to beat around the bush, man. We didn’t know, we didn’t find out until a year later. But during that time, we built everything up to that point.
‘We lost out on a lot of big deals, a lot of sponsorships. We had discussions with Nike and Oakley. That’s no joke, I could bring out Oakley prototypes right here. And then that s*** happened, man, and I was in a spot that I hadn’t been in before,’ he said.
Despite this, Dr Disrespect has not lacked sponsors throughout his career, having been sponsored by companies like Gillette, Roccat, ASUS, and more recently Mountain Dew at different times.
He has also been featured as a character in NBA 2K23, PUBG Mobile, and Rogue Company, and continues to attract thousands to his YouTube livestreams, indicating that he is likely doing well financially.
The details of what occurred in 2020 may remain unknown, but Dr Disrespect appears willing to share some of the information as time goes by.
