It wouldn’t be a Joe Lycett TV appearance without a bit of chaos, would it?
The comedian and all-round troublemaker had viewers laughing with his appearance on The One Show on Friday evening (March 5), as he sat on the sofa next to Drag Race icon RuPaul.
Talking about the return of Late Night Lycett next week, Joe, 35, looked back on the first series on Channel 4, in which he presented late-night comedy entertainment from his home of Birmingham, with wild games, hilarious sketches, and celebrity guests galore.
Joe is known for giving away outlandish prizes on TV, including his own car.
So, when host Roman Kemp suggested he was going to give away his house next, Joe was quick to explain.
‘Last time you were on, we were talking about what prizes you give away. You were talking about giving your car as the actual prize. And this time around, you’re giving your house!’, Roman began.
‘Not quite true, actually,’ said a perplexed Joe.
‘That is fake news, actually,’ he joked, following his confession of planting fake stories in the press over recent months.
He continued: ‘Last time I gave away my car and the woman I gave it to, she just sold it straight away!’
‘Oh my gosh!’, exclaimed a stunned RuPaul.
‘To be fair, I’d do the same,’ Joe quipped.
‘No, I was trying to catch you out there,’ Roman admitted. ‘What can you tell us, what can you give away?’
After thinking hard, Joe replied: ‘What I can say is the idea I had for what we’d give away has made the producers very nervous…’
Chiming in, a quick-witted RuPaul joked: ‘Is it your virginity?’
Turning to face the drag queen, Joe looked him directly in the eyes and smiled: ‘How much do you think it’s worth?’
As the studio erupted into laughter, it was clear the hosts were uncomfortable, quickly trying to change the subject.
‘And thank you, Joe!’, Roman interrupted.
‘Is this the last-ever One Show now?’, Joe teased. ‘This show might never exist now.’
If The One Show were to ever get cancelled, we believe it would be very typical of Joe.
Despite causing producers to panic, Joe and RuPaul’s cheeky exchange provided much entertainment to audiences at home.

User helenasworld90 hailed the duo as ‘an absolute riot’ while babstanwyck added their antics were ‘so funny’.
Viewer putasinghonit also wrote: ‘Watching @joelycett flirt with @RuPaul on @BBCTheOneShow was NOT on my 2024 bingo card… brilliant’.
Joe and RuPaul’s flirty banter follows his confession that he’s behind ‘multiple fake news’ stories that have landed in a range of outlets across mainstream media.
In a video he took of himself, he confessed to deceiving the nation with 'silly' stories.
He mentioned: 'Over the past month, my team and I have been spreading foolish, silly untrue news stories, about events that never actually happened, hoping that they would occupy the space that more hateful or divisive fake news might otherwise have taken.'
The comedian did not disclose which stories he was behind, hinting that everything will be revealed when Late Night Lycett comes back on April 12.
Meanwhile, he has challenged fans to uncover the fake stories and share them on social media using the hashtag #IsItJoe?
The One Show is broadcast weeknights on BBC One and on BBC iPlayer at 7pm.
