CNN anchor Abby Phillip was amazed on Thursday at the fact that No Labels spent a lot of money trying to recruit a third party presidential campaign that never happened.
Republican strategist Rina Shah expressed skepticism about the failed campaign on Phillip’s CNN show, saying she wasn't shocked it failed.
Phillip joked about the 70 million dollars being wasted, and asked where the money will go now.
No Labels announced on Thursday it was abandoning its effort to recruit a candidate to run against President Biden and former President Trump in this fall’s presidential election.
The group announced that it was not able to find credible candidates to run for the presidency, so they decided to withdraw their offer.
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. is also running for president as an independent, and the Green and Libertarian parties are also expected to field candidates.
No Labels tried to convince former Maryland Gov. Larry Hogan (R) and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley (R) to join their ticket but were ultimately unsuccessful.
