Former President Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee (RNC) brought in $65.6 million in March, leaders for the two operations announced Wednesday, a significant amount after fundraising was slow in the first two months of the year.
The two organizations, which combined last month following Trump becoming the expected Republican nominee, finished March with $93.1 million in cash on hand.
“President Donald J. Trump has once again built a strong fundraising force among Republicans. While he has been the expected nominee for the Republican Party for less than a month, the RNC and Trump campaign are one unified operation and focused on winning,” RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated.
Susie Wiles, a top adviser to the Trump campaign, mentioned in a statement that the campaign has been “gradually increasing our fundraising efforts, and our March numbers demonstrate the overwhelming support for President Trump by voters across the board.”
“Republicans might not benefit from the self-interested generosity from Hollywood and Silicon Valley elites, but President Trump is proud to be backed by donations from voters who are the backbone of this nation, which will support Republicans up and down the ballot,” she added.
The Biden campaign has not yet disclosed its fundraising total for March, but it is likely to be a substantial amount after the president brought in $26 million in one night when he attended an event last week with former President Obama and former President Clinton in New York City. The Biden campaign raised $53 million in February. approximately $9 million in January and about $20 million in February, before merging with the RNC. His campaign finances have been strained
