Mikel Arteta had expressed his surprise about the amount of yellow cards Kai Havertz and is now at risk of a two-game ban. Arsenal After a shaky start, the German international has found his footing at the Emirates
and is now a key player for Arsenal as they aim to surpass Liverpool and Manchester City in the Premier League title race. The Gunners moved to the top of the table on Wednesday following a 2-0 win over Luton Town, with Havertz providing an assist for Martin Odegaard for the opening goal.
It was another impressive performance from the 24-year-old, apart from receiving an unnecessary yellow card in the 66th minute for diving.
And that booking could turn out to be costly as it was his 11th of the season and his eighth in the league.
If he gets booked in Arsenal’s next two games – against Brighton and Aston Villa – he will face a two-game suspension.
‘Yes we have to be cautious. Hopefully he won’t get booked again because we know what happens when it's the 10th,’ Arteta said in his post-Luton press conference.

‘I will have to go back and review those yellow cards, but if they are justified then we’ll have to do better because we don’t want our players getting that many as we are the best in the league for that. It’s something to work on.’
Havertz has only missed one game across all competitions this season – when he was suspended for receiving five yellows – and Arsenal lost that game 2-0 to West Ham.
The Gunners cannot afford to lose him as the title race reaches its final stage.
Arsenal actually have the best disciplinary record in the Premier League this season, with 44 yellow cards so far, although they have had two players sent off, Fabio Vieira and Takehiro Tomiyasu.
He is close to facing a two-game ban.
