President Biden and Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) will have a conversation with journalists Wednesday at the White House to spotlight the limiting of expenses for inhalers by some drug companies.
Sanders partnered with other Democrats in the Senate to request that drug manufacturers calling for check the prices for the breathing devices. In one example, a prescription inhaler cost Americans $645 — 13 times more than what consumers in the United Kingdom paid.
Out-of-pocket expenses for an inhaler will now be at most $35 for many U.S. patients.
Biden and Sanders, along with health professionals, will speak to the media starting at 11:00 a.m. EDT.
