Congratulations are in order for Strictly Come Dancing star Chloe Hewitt, after she revealed she’s engaged.
The professional dancer, who first joined the show in 2016 with professional partner AJ Pritchard, shared the happy news on Instagram.
Alongside pictures of her ring, Chloe, 28, wrote: ‘Still taking this all in … WE’RE ENGAGED.’
Her fellow Strictly cast members rushed to express their well wishes in the comments, with Amy Dowden writing: ‘Argh congratulations, so happy for you Chlo.’
‘Ahhhh Chloe!!! Massive congratulations!’ Katya Jones wrote.
Dianne Buswell added: ‘Awww so happy for you.’
Chloe joined in 2016 alongside AJ and Neil Jones, but was not partnered with a celebrity at the time, though she still appeared in group dances and on It Takes Two.
It was confirmed in 2018 that she had left the show, and now works as a dance teacher based in Wrexham.
At the time of joining, Chloe was the show’s youngest pro, and said: ‘My childhood dream of being on Strictly Come Dancing is now reality! The sheer excitement is exhilarating.’
Chloe has shared some adorable pictures with her partner George over the years, and excerpts from her professional life in various performances.
Earlier this year, Chloe reunited with her Strictly stars, appearing on Amy’s Dare To Dance.
She said at the time, with Amy and Graziano Di Prima commenting heart emojis: ‘Dare to Dance 🪩 what an experience ! Thank you to @amy_dowden and of course @richallen84 your dedication to this project was second to none. Wanting to push the boundaries to show that truly anyone can dance 💃🏽 you can catch all episodes to season 2 on BBC iPlayer.’
Chloe also auditioned for Britain’s Got Talent with AJ in 2014, and made it all the way to the live semi-finals, before the competition was won that year by Attraction.
‘We had a great time,’ she later said to the Express.
‘It was one of the first times doing TV as well so just being able to experience all that was crazy as well.’
When asked about her Strictly exit, she added: ‘You know what, I have no idea. We were on tour last year and we got the annual phone call and the producer just said they’ve loved having me on the show and that I wouldn’t be brought back that year.
‘I don’t actually know and I don’t think I’ll ever know the reason why.’
But she didn’t rule out a return, adding in 2019: ‘I think I’d be silly if I turned around and said, “Absolutely not”, but I don’t know… I think it would kind of be in the moment, like the feelings I have at the time.’
Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
