Opposition parties are unhappy about the government's sudden suggestion to reduce the already scheduled 22-hour general debate to 18 hours.
Pakornwut Udompipatskul, the opposition chief whip, stated today that opposition whips are still unsure about whether to attend a meeting with government whips to talk about the unexpected change in the debate schedule for tomorrow and Thursday.
He stated that the government whips proposed the 22-hour period during their joint meeting on March 23.rd and he has already asked the government whips whether they are sure that the six hours allocated to them are sufficient and they confirmed they are.
Pakornwut mentioned that opposition parties have already prepared speakers for the 22-hour debate and he plans to propose extending the debate late into the night to give government MPs more time to speak instead of cutting into the opposition's allocated time.
“This is not graceful at all,” he complained.
