Michael Olise might become healthy in time to be included in Crystal Palace’s game against Manchester City, Oliver Glasner has said.
Palace will play City at Selhurst Park in the early game on Saturday, which is an important match for both teams in the Premier League table.
City currently holds the third position with just three points separating them from Liverpool and Arsenal, their rivals for the title.
The Eagles are at 14th place and only eight points above the relegation zone after losing 1-0 to Bournemouth on Tuesday night.
Glasner has only won one of his first five games as the new coach, even though the team has played well in some games.
Palace has had many injuries throughout the season, with players like Olise, Marc Guehi, Cheick Doucoure, and Chris Richards all being sidelined, with Richards being out for two to three weeks after getting injured before the Bournemouth game.
But before the City game, there is good news for the South London team as Glasner has said that star player Olise might return to play, although he warned that it would only be for a short time.
According to BBC 5 Live Sport report, Glasner said that the winger 'should be fit enough to play a part against Man City. It’ll only be for 20mins and they need to be careful, but the player is desperate to get back.'
The 22-year-old has played in only 11 Premier League games this season because of various hamstring injuries, but in that short time, he has scored six goals and assisted three others.
He hasn’t played since the beginning of February after his injury happened again when he was rushed back to play against Brighton.
Since then, the young French player has been linked with a big money move to Manchester United, Chelsea, or Liverpool. ,with a release clause in his contract set to become active in the summer.
For now, Glasner is focusing on improving his Palace team and said after the Bournemouth loss: 'If you don’t score a goal you can’t win. We had many good situations. You need to shoot. Maybe we have to improve, be more decisive in offensive positions.
“We didn’t score and one situation for Bournemouth decided the game. I would worry about it if we didn’t have the situations to score. We played really well in the second half but we have to be more direct and not passing and passing. Take the shots.
‘We’ve got Manchester City next. They come to Selhurst and it’s a game we won’t have a lot of possession. Maybe we will get three or four chances but we have to be efficient. If you are not efficient you can lose everywhere.’
