People have been expressing their condolences after a father was brutally killed in Newcastle.
35-year-old Andrew Darn was attacked with a knife on Tyne Tunnel Trading Estate on Wednesday, March 27.
The father sustained severe injuries and passed away at the location.
A 68-year-old has been accused of his murder and is scheduled to appear in court next month.
Andrew’s family stated: ‘He had three passions in his life: work, Steph and the kids, and fishing – not necessarily in that order!
‘He was well-loved by everyone; kind-hearted and gentle.’
Stephanie, Andrew’s partner since the age of 17, mentioned that she has ‘lost everything’.
Andrew’s partner, Stephanie, who he had been with since he was 17 years old, has shared the following words in tribute to her best friend:
‘Andrew was our whole world, as we were his,’ she shared.
‘I don’t have many words. Just that he is gone too soon, and we loved him.
‘It’s not fair on the kids.
‘He’s my best friend – I’ve lost my best friend, my other half. My heart hurts.
‘I’ve got this pain in my chest since I was told, and I don’t know what to do to make it go away.
‘I don’t want to get out of bed, but I had to for the kids.’
An investigation into his death is ongoing, Northumbria Police said.
