Chance Perdomo posted on Instagram about his motorcycle less than two weeks before he died from a crash.
On Saturday March 30, the actor, known for his roles in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina and The Boys spin-off Gen V, had passed away at 27 years old.
His family announced: ‘Chance Perdomo tragically passed away due to a motorcycle accident.
‘His love for the arts and thirst for life was felt by everyone who knew him.
‘His warmth will live on in those he loved. The family requests privacy as they grieve their beloved son and brother.’
Officials told the family that no one else was involved in the crash.
On March 17 this year, Perdomo made an Instagram post about his motorcycle, captioning it: ‘Day 77. Final calm before storm. #backontheroad.’
The first picture was of him lounging on what appeared to be a sofa.
In the second image, he took a selfie in a full-length mirror, while the third photo in the set showed a motorcycle.
An Instagram commenter, @mysticalmaniac2, said of Perdomo’s post after his death: ‘This post is truly haunting now.’
‘This is so eerie,’ added @git2k12, while @dawsonzilla also wrote: ‘Man this is so chilling. Rip man I’m sad.’
Perdomo, born in California in 1996, moved to England as a child and held both American and British citizenship.
He appeared in productions such as Hetty Feather, After We Fell and Midsomer Murders, before gaining international recognition as Ambrose, Sabrina’s warlock cousin, in Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina.
He also featured in the Amazon Prime Video TV series Gen V as Andre Anderson, one of the main characters with magnetic abilities.
Perdomo was nominated for a Bafta TV Award for his role in the BBC Three drama film Killed by My Debt, and in 2019, he was named a Bafta Breakthrough Brit.
Supporters and colleagues have expressed their grief over Perdomo’s unexpected passing in heartfelt tributes.
Gen V actor Patrick Schwarzenegger wrote on X: ‘This is painful. A lot. A young talented actor, and a great friend – gone way too soon. It was an honor to work with him in GenV. RIP Chance ❤️❤️❤️.’
House of the Dragon actor Steve Toussaint, who starred alongside Perdomo in Killed by My Debt, wrote on Instagram: ‘About 6 years ago I was fortunate enough to be cast in a true-life drama called “Killed By My Debt”.
‘The story shed light on the tragedy of “zero hour” contracts and the cruelty of certain debt-collection agencies. It was very good, and our lead was a smart, sensitive young actor by the name of Chance Perdomo.
‘People praised his acting and he got bigger roles in Hollywood. Tonight I found out that this young man has died in a motorcycle crash. He was 27. RIP.’
