The Rail Transport Department has instructed to halt the construction of the Pink Line extension for a week, due to liquid cement falling onto the trunk and rear window of a passenger car at Impact Muang Thong Thani station.
Transport Minister Suriya Juangroongruangkit has directed the Rail Transport Department to have its consultancy company review the contractors' operational procedures and prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
He mentioned that the Northern Bangkok Monorail (NBM), the project's concessionaire, will have its performance score reduced for neglect, which could impact their future government project bids.
He expressed regret for the occurrence, emphasizing to the concessionaire the importance of ensuring public safety at the construction site.
The liquid cement caused damage to the rear window and trunk of a BMA car, resulting in a minor injury to a passenger who received first-aid treatment at the hospital.
