President Biden has secured enough votes in the primary season to win the Democratic nomination. He is anticipated to win the North Dakota race as well, which was mainly conducted through mail-in ballots.
The current officeholder is being challenged in the state's primary by author Marianne Williamson and entrepreneur Jason Palmer, who won the American Samoa caucuses earlier this month. Biden fell short in the 2020 North Dakota Democratic caucuses, getting only 40 percent to Sen. Bernie Sanders's (I-Vt.) 53 percent. The state consistently supports the Republican party and voted for former President Trump, the likely GOP nominee for November, in both the 2016 and 2020 general elections by substantial margins.
