Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has stated that Micky van de Ven and Richarlison are ready to play against Luton on Saturday as Spurs continue their fight for a Champions League place.
Postecoglou’s team are just one spot and three points behind fourth-placed Aston Villa after a surprise 3-0 loss at Fulham in their last match.
That defeat occurred two weeks ago and Spurs are returning to play at home against the Hatters on Saturday as they aim to get back on course.
Van de Ven was absent from the loss at Craven Cottage due to a hamstring issue but is now fully fit, as is Richarlison after not playing for Brazil in their recent friendlies.
‘The first thing is all the international players got through without any injuries,’ Postecoglou said in a press conference on Friday.
‘Most of them also got significant playing time which is important, so they all returned in good condition. Micky’s the one who missed the last game, he’s trained in the last couple of days and is ready.’
Regarding Richarlison, he added: ‘Yes, he’s fine. He had a slight knee issue and we have been managing it. Brazil managed it and he trained today and feels good, so he's ready.’
Midfielder Rodrigo Bentancur is also dealing with an injury but has been playing with a broken toe for the past month.
‘Yes, a broken small toe. He has nine others,’ said the Australian boss. ‘You know, I don’t think anyone could question Rodrigo’s bravery considering what he’s had to deal with recently.
‘He didn’t want to stop playing, the medical advice was that he could continue playing, so he has still been training and playing. He hasn’t missed a session as far as I can see and I think it’s better now anyway so everything is okay.’
