There is a video that is shocking and shows a robber with a knife stabbing a Deliveroo rider on a busy street while trying to steal his bike.
The person who was attacked, a 28-year-old, said that he thought a 19-year-old named Lewis Livingstone would have killed him if people hadn't intervened to save him.
Livingstone attacked the courier without a reason after seeing him riding along Fore Street in Enfield, north London, around 4:30pm on July 1 last year.
In the CCTV clip, Livingstone is seen taking out a big knife and waving it at the victim before chasing him away from the bike. He tried to ride away on it but was tackled to the ground.
While they were both on the ground, Livingstone stabbed the rider in the stomach in front of shocked onlookers.
The victim asked for help and his hands were cut as he defended himself, before several witnesses came in to stop the attack.
His injuries were later found to not be life-threatening or life-changing.
When asked why he did it, one witness said Livingstone simply responded: 'Is he dead?'
Livingstone, who is from Enfield, was jailed for six-and-a-half years at Hendon Magistrates’ Court on March 15 after admitting to trying to rob and having a bladed object.
He also had a suspended sentence for a prior crime, which added up to eight years' imprisonment.
Livingstone tried to argue that he acted in self-defense, according to Scotland Yard.
The person who was attacked said: 'I think this man was going to kill me if people hadn't come to help me.
I am still not over the shock and fear. I spent the night in hospital having nightmares. I still have a lot of pain on my side and hands as a result of being stabbed. I am now in the queue waiting for surgery on my hands.'
An investigator, detective constable James Hunt, said: 'The victim is still dealing with the physical and psychological impact of this event.
He was just going about his day, having just bought some food, when he was put in a terrible situation.
I know he is incredibly thankful to the people who came to help. If it wasn't for their bravery, this event could have been much worse.'
