EastEnders star Max Bowden is encouraging people to make sure their friends are okay after experiencing some very sad losses.
The actor is well-known for playing Ben Mitchell in the BBC soap. Recently, it was confirmed that his exit from the show would involve Ben getting arrested for fraud while in the America.
Aside from appearing in the 30th-anniversary production of Birdsong for his next job, Max has told fans that he’s also involved in another project that is very important to him.
Sharing a picture in a car, Max wrote ‘Up and out early this morning filming something mega important and close to my heart’.

Last year, when a storyline on EastEnders showed Lola Pearce (Danielle Harold) being diagnosed with a brain tumour, Max shared on Instagram about Maxwell’s death, telling followers ’21 months ago I lost my best friend in the world to an undiagnosed brain tumour. Max lost his friend Luke Goodings, and was left devastated after his mate and celebrity agent Terry Mills died after battling with Covid-19. He often shares influential messages on his social media and at the beginning of the year, he was asked by poet Hussain Manawer to
read out one of his poems on camera , called ‘You May Have Died, But You Are Still Alive’Recently, to mark the end of his time in EastEnders, Max posted a heartfelt
message on his social media. Alongside a promo picture of Ben outside the Arches, Max thanked fans for accepting his portrayal of Ben, as he was the sixth actor to play the character.
‘Well guys It’s that time!’, he wrote.
‘It’s been one hell of a ride! Thanks for taking Ben to your hearts and allowing my version into your lives. I had an amazing five years at EastEnders and learnt a hell of a lot about myself and the craft I love so dearly; it got me through some very hard personal times and I will be forever grateful!
‘I really will never be able to thank everybody for the support enough, because the fans of the show are so passionate, caring, and invested and it enables us as actors to want to keep going and always be better; so I really do from the bottom of my heart appreciate every single person who has sent any sort of positivity my way over the last five years – I love you all.’
He added that Ben Mitchell 6.0 was ‘over and out’, before bidding EastEnders farewell and assuring his castmates that he would miss them.
