Chelsee Healey has indicated that she will soon be returning to Hollyoaks after her maternity break.
The actress, recognized for her role as Goldie McQueen in the Channel 4 soap, was last observed in the show in January departing for a global cruise with her aunt Myra (Nicole Barber-Lane).
She announced in December that she had given birth to a baby girl.
Since then it has been announced that the soap, which currently airs five episodes a week, will be altering their production model and scaling back to just three episodes.
As a result, over 130 staff at the show’s production base in Childwall, Liverpool, are facing redundancy.
Several cast members have already stated they will be leaving ahead of a UK soap first time jump, which will see the drama accelerate one year into the future on a permanent basis from September.
It’s understood that the decision to skip ahead is to accommodate the high number of departing characters.
Those leaving include Jamie Lomas, who has played Warren Fox since 2006 and Ross Adams who joined the show as Scott Drinkwell in 2015.
But it seems like Chelsee, and indeed Goldie, aren’t going anywhere – as stylist Sophia Sestanovich has shared an Instagram reel showing her transforming the actress back into the Hollyoaks symbol.
‘We love a good transformation & time-lapse. Hair ready for the show!’ Sophie captioned her post.
‘The beautiful Chelsee Healey ready for her character Goldie.’
In response, Healey commented: ‘Always love seeing my girl.’
It also revealed a dramatic new look, that’s a far cry from her familiar red weave.
Now with long, dark brown loose curls, Chelsee looks not too dissimilar from her on-screen cousin Mercedes McQueen, played by Jennifer Metcalfe.
As with every continuing drama, the lead time on filming can often be months in advance so it may be a while before we see Goldie step back into the eponymous village.
