The father of the Liverpool star Luis Diaz mentioned that he still hopes to move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
The Colombian turned down Spurs when he joined Liverpool in 2022.
Barcelona had shown interest in Diaz during his time at Porto, but he opted for Anfield in a £37 million deal.
The winger has been in good form this season, scoring 11 goals in all competitions.
However, his father believes there is still hope for him to move to Spain.
‘There was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atlético,’ Diaz senior told Cadena Ser.
‘Liverpool were always more determined and concrete to sign Luis. We haven’t lost our hope yet… Luis is playing well and Spanish clubs are always active in the market.’
Jurgen Klopp’s departure at the end of the season is bound to unnerve supporters.
Virgil van Dijk said in February that he will assess his future at the end of the season, while Mohamed Salah continues to be linked with a big money move to Saudi Arabia.
Liverpool are yet to announce a successor for Klopp.
