Harry Kane has rejoined first-team training with Bayern Munich, reducing worries about his injury after he missed England’s friendly matches against Brazil and Belgium.
The England captain was in Gareth Southgate’s squad earlier this month but got an ankle injury in Bayern’s win over Darmstadt before the international break.
The former Tottenham player had to leave the field after hitting the post and trained separately from his teammates at St George’s Park last week.
Kane watched England's loss to Brazil on Saturday with Gareth Southgate later confirming he would go back to his club for more treatment, missing last night’s draw with Belgium.
But on Wednesday, the forward resumed training with his club teammates to try to be fit for this weekend’s match with Borussia Dortmund.
Bayern, who are 10 points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen, will face their rivals in De Klassiker on Saturday evening before going to Heidenheim the following week.
On 9 April, they will go to north London for the first leg of their Champions League quarter-final with Arsenal.
Kane scored 14 goals in 17 Premier League matches for Tottenham against their north London rivals and will aim to cause similar problems as Bayern looks for success in Europe.
Bayern had another injury scare during the international break when goalkeeper Manuel Neuer got a muscle tear in training and had to return to his club for treatment.
The 38-year-old missed Germany’s friendly matches against France and Netherlands as a result.
National team boss Julian Nagelsmann downplayed any major injury concerns, telling reporters the goalkeeper would be out for 10 days – a period that would have ruled him out against Dortmund at the weekend but made him available for the trip to Arsenal.
Neuer went back to individual training on Wednesday.
