A British skier passed away after hitting a tree at a resort in the French Alps.
The 68-year-old was reportedly attempting to avoid a group of fellow skiers on the piste at Avoriaz in Morzine yesterday.
He struck the tree at high speed and was declared dead at the scene, according to the Daily Mail.
His death comes a month after another man died on the Swiss Wall near Champery in Switzerland, also part of the Portes du Soleil area.
The 47-year-old was trying the piste – one of the world’s most dangerous – even though it was closed due to icy conditions.
It is believed he fell several hundred meters to his death on the ski run, which has a 37° average slope and up to 76% gradient.
