The Red Sox plan to use most of their expected starting lineup for the last spring game, except for one player.
Pablo Reyes, who is likely to be on the Red Sox's Opening Day roster as a utility player, will be starting at first base instead of Triston Casas for the team's last exhibition game against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday.
Tyler O’Neill, who has just returned to the lineup after dealing with a calf injury throughout March, will once again play in right field for the second consecutive game. Jarren Duran will start in left, and Ceddanne Rafaela in center, indicating that they could be the main outfield combination for the club when the season starts.
Richard Fitts, a pitching prospect acquired in the Alex Verdugo trade earlier this winter, is set to be the starting pitcher for Boston against Texas’ Jon Gray. Fitts is currently ranked as the 12th top prospect for Boston by MLB Pipeline and is expected to join the Worcester Red Sox rotation at the beginning of the season.
