Former Chelsea left-back Scott Minto argues that Raheem Sterling cannot strike the ball properly.
Chelsea player Sterling has faced a lot of criticism since the Blues defeated Leicester City in the FA Cup last time, a game where his own fans booed him.
The 29-year-old failed to score a penalty in the first half and Mauricio Pochettino had to defend his player after the quarter-final win over the Foxes.
Sterling is determined to win over Chelsea fans, and wants to help win major trophies for west London.
But Minto expressed concerns about Sterling as he said talkSPORT: 'Raheem Sterling missed a one-on-one [against Leicester City]; he missed a penalty which he shouldn't have taken in the first place.
'Remember the penalty he scored against Manchester City at Stamford Bridge and how he handled the pressure against his former team, in the last minute with everyone watching?
'And Raheem Sterling, although he's a great player and it sounds strange to say this because I'd hate to have to defend against him, he has never really hit the ball well as a professional footballer. So I wouldn't have him take free-kicks or penalties.'
Meanwhile, Paul Merson has cautioned Sterling that he has little chance of being included in the England squad for Euro 2024 this summer.
‘Euro 2024 has written off Raheem Sterling now,' Merson said. 'When Sterling is in form, he's unstoppable and he performs well in major tournaments.
'I'm not sure if Gareth Southgate has made up his mind about him, but I don't see Sterling at the Euros. It's difficult to argue for him after the weekend.'
