A Specsavers van driver has social media in stitches after their vehicle got stuck on a bollard, with users pleading with them to pay attention to the written advice on the van.
A warning sign situated next to the stranded vehicle read: ‘Caution automatic bollards in operation. No parking.’
Aidan McNelis discovered the van while visiting Edinburgh for the weekend: ‘It was great, I was happy to come across it. I looked for damage so I don’t think anyone could have got hurt.
‘I’m sure there would have been an awkward conversation at work for the driver though!
‘Around the corner from there, all the bus stops had Specsavers adverts on them.
‘And then you see their van on a bollard… you couldn’t make it up.’
The software developer from Galway, Ireland posted the image on X with the caption: ‘Should have gone to…Oh, wait.’
However, some users are not convinced.
Specsavers’ marketing team are known for being outlandish and humorous, with their Twitter constantly going viral for amusing interactions, and a lot of people online are suspecting that it may be an advertising stunt.
