The Traitors star Wilfred Webster has revealed a terrifying ordeal where his house was broken into by balaclava-wearing burglars who shouted to ‘stab him’.
The 30-year-old gameshow star has gained a loyal following after rising to fame on the first series of Claudia Winkleman’s murder mystery show.
Becoming the ‘Ultimate Traitor,’ Wilf made it all the way to the end and was just moments away from the £101,050 prize, which was eventually won by Faithfuls Meryl Williams, Aaron Evans and Hannah Byczkowski.
Since his time on the BBC One programme, Wilf has gone on to star on the likes of Would I Lie To You? and keep fans updated with his personal life.
However, on Friday he shared the horrific news that his home – where he lives with his wife and children – was broken into and shared images of the smashed window and door panes.
Wilf wrote: ‘This morning my wife left for work. I was laying on my bed with headphones watching Netflix on my phone. The next thing I see my bedroom door open and I thought it was my wife and turns out it’s some low life piece of s**t burgling my house in a balaclava!
‘I jumped off the bed in shock and he ran downstairs and out the back of the house via a window. I ran out of the front door and stood in the garden in shock and the pair of melts walked around the corner and I spotted them.
‘One of them shouted “stab him” and then ran at me with a big knife. Quickly I ran back into my house and shut the door and phoned the police.’
Wilf went on: ‘The police came very quickly and to my own lack of motivation I had not charged the Ring doorbell BUT all of the neighbours are more proactive with theirs and managed to give footage to the police and identified the car they left in.
‘I’ve been through a lot in my life but I have never felt so scared. My house is my safe space and to have someone break in and take away that safety is horrible. I’m even posting this picture using a VPN out of fear.’
He added: ‘We believe they entered by breaking the panelling on the back door and squeezing through and exited through the back window! We’re definitely upgrading our security and I’m never wearing noise cancelling headphones again.
‘People if you do have a doorbell that records please charge it. I can’t believe I’m saying this but keep your house safe. Realistically no one should enter your house unwanted but we live in a world with scumbags!’
His co-stars rushed to support him in the comments, with Madelyn Smedley writing: ‘Hope you’re okay!!! Sounds horrid xxxx.’
The Traitors season two star Ash Bibi wrote: ‘Will! Oh my goodness! Mate I’m so sorry to hear this. Gonna text you xxxx.'
‘Oh for goodness' sake! I'm sorry to hear that, friend,’ Paul Gorton wrote while Anthony Mathurin added: ‘What a terrible experience. Happy you guys are safe.’
Recently, Wilf mentioned on his Instagram that he got married to his partner Yiota, with whom he has two daughters, and went abroad for the first time.
The experienced charity fundraiser also hosts a podcast with his fellow cast members Ivan Brett and Rayan Rachedi.
The attempted burglary comes weeks after Wilf’s family received some very sad news and asked fans for help, after his cousin was tragically diagnosed with cancer.
The Traitors can be watched on BBC iPlayer.
