Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin expressed gratitude to House of Representatives members for their approval of the government's 3.48 trillion baht budget plan for the 2024 fiscal year, which was due to take effect last October.
The House showed support for the budget with a vote of 298 in favor, 166 against, one abstention, and one MP who did not vote.
After the initial vote, Srettha thanked both government and opposition MPs and promised to review their suggestions, as well as those from the budget scrutiny committee, for potential adjustments to benefit the public.
The budget plan will now move to the Senate for discussion, set to begin next Tuesday.
