Manchester City star, Kyle Walker will have tests to find out how serious the hamstring injury is that he got in England’s friendly defeat to Brazil.
Walker, who led the Three Lions on Saturday night in the absence of Harry Kane, rushed to help his team early in the first half after Vinicius Jr nearly scored for the visitors.
The Real Madrid player put his shot past Jordan Pickford in the England goal, but Walker rushed back to stop it going in before clearing it to safety.
The 34-year-old seemed to hurt his left hamstring while doing this, went down, and got treatment.
After trying to continue playing briefly, he was substituted by Ezri Konsa who was playing his first game for the national team.
Walker will probably be unsure for England’s friendly against Belgium on Tuesday, but his substitution is a bigger worry for Man City, who are fighting for the Premier League title and play against Arsenal on 31 March.
Asked about Walker’s injury at the end of the game, Gareth Southgate told Channel 4: ‘We don’t know yet. He is feeling something but he is not a player who is injured very often so he’s not quite certain what it is/
‘So it is something we have to assess in the coming days.’
