Indian authorities in New Delhi took possession of a homemade car creation from two ambitious brothers who had altered their small Suzuki hatchback to look like a helicopter, with the intention of renting it out to wedding parties.
Ishwardin and Parmeshwardin Prajapati spent close to $3,000 to add small rotor blades to the car's roof and create a metal tail that imitated a helicopter.
The extensive changes took several weeks at a workshop in the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, according to local media reports.
The brothers intended to charge 5,000 rupees ($60) per day to couples getting married, offering a unique form of transportation on their wedding days.
"I transformed the car to rent it out during wedding seasons so that our family could earn some extra money," Ishwardin said, as quoted by the Economic Times.
However, their plans came to a halt when the police confiscated the "car copter" on Wednesday while it was being taken for a final paint job.
The vehicle was taken because it did not comply with road regulations and had unauthorized modifications, as reported by the India Today news network.
The brothers paid a fine of 2,000 rupees ($24) and the car was returned to them with the condition that they remove the imitation helicopter tail.
