The House Freedom Caucus plans to have a press briefing this morning to talk about the newly revealed $1.2 trillion funding deal.
Congressional leaders introduced a large package to fund most parts of the government for the rest of the fiscal year following last-minute tension over Department of Homeland Security (DHS) funding that endangered efforts to prevent a shutdown just days before the deadline.
Members of the Freedom Caucus have criticized the bill, expressing disapproval of the late-night release by congressional leaders, the inclusion of various funding priorities such as dollars for the FBI headquarters, and the exclusion of some of their conservative policy riders, specifically those related to the border.
The event will start at 9 a.m. EDT.
